Situated among the green hills of the Valle del Metauro, near the medieval village Montefelcino, stands the Farmhouse Villa San Marco, an oasis of peace and tranquility away from the city crowd and surrounded by nature.
The property, a cottage completely renovated in green building, is situated in the heart of the Romiti’s Family farm. The owners, in addition to welcoming guests in their stay, have been producing for over a hundred years organic products like wine, oil, cereals and typical cold cuts of the area.
At the farm you can relax with a bath in our pool or listen to the gentle sounds of nature while you enjoy our specialties or hike through the “Cesane” trails.
Thanks to the good links with main roads, from the cottage you can also reach many points of interest like Urbino and its Palazzo Ducale, the Monastero of Montebello, where stands one of the first organic cooperatives in italy or, if you like, in just 20 minutes by car, you can reach the sunny beaches of Fano.

Our farmhouse stands in a perfect location to visit all the most famous tourist destinations, medieval villages and cities rich in history.
Provincial capital overlooking the sea, thanks to its natural beauty and significant cultural proposals, Pesaro has been elected Capital of Culture for 2024. Here you can visit the prestigious Rossini Theater, dedicated to the master born in Pesaro, the “Musei Civici” and admire the “Sfera Grande”, a sculpture made by Arnaldo Pomodoro in 1998.
This city is a true “pearl of the Renaissance” and is foremost known for the Palazzo Ducale, home of the National Gallery of Marche and a masterpiece of the renaissance proclaimed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Inside this palace you can admire many works by Renaissance heavyweights such as Raffaello Sanzio, Paolo Uccello and Piero della Francesca.
Along the road that connects Isola del Piano to Urbino stands the first “cenobio” of Girolimini friars. Founded in 1300 by Beato Pietro Gambacorta from Pisa, this was the first monastery dedicated to San Girolamo. Towards the end of the ’70, after decades of neglect, Gino Girolomoni began an important restoration and made it the seat of one of the first organic co-op farm in Italy. Today, as well as hosting many cultural meetings, this place is the seat of the “Museo della Civiltà Contadina”, open only under reservation. Inside this monastery, you can also enjoy many delicacies in the organic restaurant “Locanda Girolomoni”.
For those who love to explore nature, a must-see attraction is the Nature Reserve of the Gorge of the Furlo, the perfect place for hiking through the canyons, diving in the crystal clear waters of Metauro River or enjoying guided tours by kayak.
Just a 20-minute drive from our farmhouse is situated Fano, best known for its carnival, famous for the beautiful allegorical floats and the launch of sweets. Its best asset are also the beaches. In fact, Fano has been elected among the 100 most beautiful seaside resorts in Italy awarded with the blue flag and beaches with facilities with a large sandy coastline of more than 20 km.
Just a few steps from our farmhouse, we recommend this charming medieval town, part of the municipality of Montefelcino. Here, it’s worth a visit to the “old itinerant craftsmen museum”, where you can admire a selection of unusual bicycles used by artisans and traders who traveled in the area selling goods and services otherwise unavailable. The bicycles were equipped with specific tools and accessories to exercise trades such as the barber, the dressmaker, the knife grinder, the shoemaker or the carpenter.
